Ingredients for Bath Bombs

Sodium Bicarbonate is used with Citric Acid to make bath bombs. It's the chemical reaction bewteen these two ingredients that make them fizz when you drop them in the bath.

Take 2 parts Sodium Bicarbonate to 1 part Citric Acid and mix together thoroughly. (Add a sprinkling of dried petals here if you wish). Add a few drops of your favourite essential oil for fragrance. Using a pump spray bottle, add a fine misting of water, rose water or witch hazel and mix in quickly until you have a mixture that feels like damp sand. Take care not to add too much liquid. Squeeze some of the mixture in your hand. If it holds together, it's ready. Squash the mixture into some guest soap moulds. Pack in as much as you can and smooth the surface with the back of a metal spoon. Leave to dry and harden for 24 hours. Release from moulds and store in an airtight container until needed. Add a bomb to your bath and enjoy the fizz and fragrance.
